IR Legal is pleased to welcome Dr Jacqui Watt to the firm as Senior Consultant.

Dr Jacqui is a highly experienced lawyer, scientist, and strategic adviser with more than 20 years' experience working across law, science, technology, and innovation. She brings a distinctive multidisciplinary perspective to complex legal matters, with particular expertise in Intellectual Property Law, Commercial Litigation, Expert Evidence, and disputes involving scientific, engineering, and environmental issues.

With qualifications in both law and science, including a Juris Doctor and a PhD in Applied Hydrology, Dr Jacqui has a strong understanding of technically complex matters. Her ability to analyse scientific and technical evidence and develop clear legal strategies provides significant value to clients involved in complex litigation, disputes, investigations, and regulatory matters.

Dr Jacqui's career spans private practice, government, and the research sector, including senior roles with Maddocks and CSIRO. Her experience encompasses intellectual property, commercialisation, expert evidence, complex dispute resolution, investigations, and stakeholder engagement.

She has extensive experience working with scientific, engineering, and environmental experts, supporting clients and legal teams in matters where specialist technical evidence is central to the legal issues. Her multidisciplinary background enables her to effectively bridge the gap between complex technical information and practical legal strategy.

Dr Jacqui takes a strategic, practical, and commercially focused approach to her work. She is committed to providing clear advice, helping clients understand complex legal and technical issues, and developing effective strategies designed to protect their interests and achieve sound outcomes.
