Jackie Simpkin is an experienced commercial lawyer and registered trademarks attorney with extensive expertise in intellectual property, commercial law, employment law, and privacy law. She advises businesses of all sizes, from start-ups and growing enterprises to established organisations, providing practical and commercially focused legal solutions tailored to their objectives.

Jackie has significant experience in all aspects of intellectual property law, including trademark and registered design filing and prosecution, brand protection, IP licensing, commercialisation, and the enforcement of intellectual property rights. Her practice spans resolving early-stage disputes through negotiation and alternative dispute resolution, as well as representing clients in complex patent and trademark infringement and invalidity proceedings before the Federal Court of Australia.

In addition to her intellectual property practice, Jackie advises clients on a broad range of commercial law matters, including commercial agreements, business transactions, contractual negotiations, and regulatory compliance. She also provides strategic advice on employment law, assisting employers with employment contracts, workplace policies, employment disputes, and workplace compliance, together with privacy law matters, including privacy compliance and data protection obligations.

Jackie's intellectual property expertise is underpinned by her strong interest in science and technology, together with her postgraduate qualification in Intellectual Property Law from The University of Melbourne. Her commercial perspective has been further strengthened through her MBA studies at Melbourne Business School, enabling her to deliver legal advice that aligns with her clients' broader commercial objectives.
